Dr. Liu:
The only way that a patient will not lose much weight is if they don’t ever come back to the clinic and get an adjustment, that’s probably the only thing that I can think of. The other thing is to switch their diet to a liquid, high-calorie diet. That’s the other way of sabotaging their diet process. In general, the patients will diet and exercise in addition to having their bands adjusted in order to ensure proper weight loss.

Dr. Liu received his medical degree from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine and completed his internship, residencies and research fellowship at UCLA Medical Center.
