Pamela shares the impact of added hormones to her body post menopause.

Pamela:
What I found was when I wasn’t on hormones, I wasn’t motivated to do anything. It's hard to sleep, I wasn’t getting out of bed in the morning, I was depressed, I had chronic anxiety, I couldn’t handle stress. I mean, my life literally shut down. I didn’t have hot flashes so I can’t even imagine how much worse that would have been, but it's just dreadful what you go through.

And then you wonder why you’re not exercising, and when you’re not exercising and eating properly, you start to put on weight. So there’s just negative, vicious cycle that gets set up when you’re not on hormones, and as soon as I started to feel the effects of hormones, it was a like a positive cycle got set up.

And maybe a lot of being healthier on hormones has to do with the fact that suddenly you feel like exercising. You don’t need to eat chocolate all day long for energy because you have real energy. You feel great and you start to do the things that prevent disease, and so now I have been able to set up a positive lifestyle for myself where I don’t depend on sugar or alcohol or other stimulants to get through the day like I used to, because I just didn’t have any natural stamina left.
