I'm not sure what symptoms you are having; can you explain what your exact question is?

- Did you have unprotected sex recently, and are worried about pregnancy?
- When was your last menstrual period, and when are you expecting your next period?
- Did you miss any pills?

Any time you have unprotected sex you risk pregnancy. But if you have your period already, the risk is probably low.

Thanks for visiting the site. Good luck.

I missed two pills out of my pill pack on my third week. I took them when I remembered, then I took the pill I was supposed to take that day. Did I do the wrong thing?

Just to make sure we are talking about the same days, here is an example of how you would make-up missed birth control pills:

Thursday: oops! missed pill
Friday: oops! missed pill
Saturday: take Thursday's missed pill, plus Saturday's regular pill
Sunday: take Friday's missed pill, plus Sunday's missed pill
Monday: take Monday's regular pill

Basically, you always take that day's pill, regardless of missing one or two pills prior. Then, you "double up" on the first pill you missed. When you take two pills in one day, you do not need to take them at the exact same time, as it can cause nausea. You can space them an hour or two apart.

(If you miss 3 or more pills in-a-row, the instructions on your pill pack probably says to throw away that pack, and start a new pack after your period begins, so making up pills after you have missed 3 is irrelevant...you don't make up pills if you miss 3 or more).

Does this help?

Hi, I've been on orth-tri-cyclen for 2 years now, and missed 1 pill during the 3rd week of active hormone pills. i believe i missed it on friday (7/9), took 1 pill on saturday, noticed that i was a day behind on sunday and took 2 pills on sunday. For extra precaution i took plan B on monday (7/12), and started my placebo pills on wednesday. Since i started taking birth control i've gotten my period every saturday after starting the placebo pills, but this month I'm late. it's now sunday and i haven't gotten my period. I took a pregnancy test this morning that came out negative, but i'm wondering if it's actually too early to tell since the day of unprotected sex was on the 9th, and it's only been a little over a week and don't know if that's enough time for HCG to accumulate. What should i do?

sorry for adding so much information haha, but the last time i had unprotected sex was that friday (7/9), so that's part of the reason why i'm so worried, besides the fact that my period is now late

Hi anon,
I am getting confused as to what "anon" posts are yours...I don't mind the "added information" at all, but I just need you to re-type the information into one post so I am certain I am answering the right "anon" question.

If you have missed your period and had unprotected sex, you can take a home pregnancy test. Does that help answer your question?
