HerStory:
I became interested in health, particularly mental wellness (i.e., stress, anxiety, body image) and its connection to all areas of health (physical, social, intellectual and spiritual) when I was very young. We all have our personal health story; mine includes helping friends, family and others through emphysema, cancer, diabetes, osteopenia, disordered eating and a hysterectomy. I had a frustrating pregnancy with gestational diabetes and a scary preterm delivery, but all of our health condition lists can go on and on. I am excited that I can make a difference in women’s lives by providing resources, and helping to create a community of women that shares credible and reliable information through our social network.
In my free time, I love spending time with my family, playing with my 3 year old son; eating Tex-Mex food with my husband and extended family on the weekends, and spending time with other moms and kids, both in-person and online. "Free time" is precious these days, as I now have a newborn baby boy that I am caring for full-time, along with my 3 year old son. Life is hectic, these days, and honestly, if I had any "free time", I would choose to sleep...something else that is precious to us right now!
The value of friends, and online support systems, is truly invaluable! I look forward to “meeting” you all, if only virtually, soon!
