Dr. Steinman:
My name is Howard Steinman and I am private practice dermatologist in Chula Vista, California. I’m also on the faculty at the University Of California, San Diego. I did my residency at both at the University of California, San Diego and in London at St. John’s Hospital for diseases of the skin and then I did one extra year of training and skin cancer surgery, Moe’s surgery, and cosmetic surgery at the University of Illinois in Chicago. I then taught full-time at the University of California, San Diego and then went into the private practice in Chula Vista in 1989. My practice is approximately half general dermatology, about 30% to 40% cosmetic dermatology and then skin cancer with Moe’s surgeries as the other remaining 10%. I see people of all ages. I see a lot of women both with medical dermatology concerns and cosmetic concerns and I try to treat them individually using the safest, least expensive, and most effective treatment options available.

Dr. Howard Steinman is the first and only Dermatologist in South San Diego County fully certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery in all aspects of cosmetic surgery and by the American Board of Dermatology in all aspects of Dermatology. He is one of the very few Board-Certified Dermatologists with formal residency and fellowship training in both Cosmetic Surgery and Advanced Surgical Dermatology. Dr. Steinman is the Medical Director of MD Skin Esthetics and Spa, a comprehensive Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery center located in Chula Vista, California.
