Lorraine recalls the many medical conditions she has been infected by because of HIV.
Lorraine:
Let’s see, I have had Pneumocystis pneumonia; I have had herpes zoster; I have had the shingles; I have had vaginal yeast dysplasia; I have had thrush in the mouth and that’s something I get periodically. I get probably every six months I get a case of thrush. It’s just to remind me that I am still HIV, you know, because I forget.
I think, let’s see what else, I have hit menopause at an earlier age. I think I was like 32 when I hit menopause. Of course doctors thought I was crazy and I kept saying, “Look, I know, I know I am having menopause. I know I am having hot flashes”, but it’s okay. I have stopped having a menstrual cycle since the age of 35. So, I mean hey, what else can HIV do to me? Hey!
