Lorraine recalls the best advice someone has shared with her since her HIV diagnosis.
Lorraine:
A gentleman who told me that, I was going to outlive AIDS, and I mean, that has stuck with me for many years. I mean, even to this day, like I said, I feel like I am not going to die of AIDS. I’ll get run over first before I die of AIDS, you know? As long as it’s quick and painless. You know, but I think that was probably the most, the one thing that I can tell you that when it was said, that it has just stayed in my mind. Like this person was very in tuned with who I am. “You are not going to die of AIDS. I don’t even know why you tell people you have AIDS. I don’t believe you have it,” you know, and I am like, “Well, every time I go and get blood work it still comes back as being positive.” He said, “Eh, them doctors don’t know how to do it right.”
