At 37 my life began to change. My mood, personality, physical health and more. After being tested for everything from vitamin deficiency to thyroid issues, I got the final word: I was well into Perimenopause. I thought they had to be wrong. I was so young! But it turns out my mother's own early journey into menopause had been passed on to me.
I'm 40 now and have spent the last 3 years going through all the classic symptoms - from hot flashes to hair loss - along with some more extreme, rare issues such as a sudden onset of severe driving anxiety.
With diet, exercise and both pharmaceutical and natural treatments, I'm finally winning against my menopause symptoms. But until this phase of life is completely over, I will continue to research and learn. You never know what your body has planned for you next.
