Cinnamon Cuts Sugar with Spice – Makes You Feel Nice
Giving a high-carb meal a dash of cinnamon can reduce its effect on blood sugar levels, the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition says.
“Part of the reason that high-carbohydrate meals increase blood sugar quickly is because they are emptied rapidly by the stomach. Cinnamon reduces the rise in blood sugar after eating because it slows the rate at which the stomach empties after meals.”
Hmm ... Mary Poppins had it all wrong with her “Just a Spoonful of sugar…” This leaves me saying “No sugar, just spice ... that’s what healthy girls are made of ...”
