Although not yet clinically diagnosed, Joanna describes her hypothyroid symptoms.
Joanna:
There has been a multitude of symptoms. Some of the ones that I am thinking of that come to mind are the weight gain, also, dry skin, hair loss, swelling of my hands and feet. People have actually noticed that and say, “Oh my gosh, your hands look so swollen,” or “Your feet look so swollen,” and there’s a litany of them, but it’s basically if I look at the list I pretty much can say yes to almost all the typical symptoms.
I am always cold, and so, I mean, I live in Arizona and I wear sweats, you know, to bed every night. That’s the only way I can go to sleep or else I am just too cold and I can’t even sleep and I have always been like that. And I think I have been more so the past couple of years and that’s a big thing, that my body temperature is generally low.
