Milk and dairy products can cause constipation and should be used in moderation. Same with processed grains and "white" foods like white bread, pasta and white rice.

Processed fast foods and packaged freezer meals can cause stools to harden, as can red meat.

Fresh, unprocessed foods, plenty of water and whole grains are preferable, in order to avoid constipation.
