So all this time i have been taking pack after pack and not waiting to have my period.. what do you suggest I do?!

Hey..
Umm well I have a question. I'm 17 and I been in birth control for about 4 months now. I didnt have the time to get new ones so I missed a whole week on using them, but during that week on a friday me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex. Next week on Monday I started my pills again till this day. Could I still be pregnant?

Hi Anon,

Thank you for your question! It sounds like it may be best for you to visit your OB/GYN to determine why you haven't had a period since April and what the best way for you to conceive is. If you go back on the pill, you will have a regular period but no ovulation, so you will not get pregnant.

Please keep us updated,

Hi Anonymous,
Thank you for your question and welcome to EmpowHer. Usually, if you take birth control pills and make up the missed ones or (not miss three days in a row), you should be safe BUT in reality anytime you have unprotected sex, there is that possibilty of pregnancy as there is no 100% guarentee. In most instances, waiting at least a week from a missed period should provide you an accurate pregnancy test result. If you still have not had a period, try another one in a couple days.

I hope this helps. Good luck.
Missie
