Have you been to see a gynecologist or your family doctor regarding "girl" things yet? It may be a good idea, particularly if you don't get your period for another month again. Unexpected weight gain may be an indicator of either growing up, or a problem in your reproductive or another system. You body is always changing, so it's good to keep in contact with a doctor when you notice things like considerable weight gain, etc. The doctor or other health care provider might ask, so be prepared to answer the following:
What signs and symptoms are you experiencing? (weight gain, cramping, etc.)
How often do you experience these symptoms?
How long have you been experiencing symptoms?
How severe are your symptoms?
How old were you when you started having periods?
When did you last have a period?
Have you gained weight since you first started having periods? How much weight have you gained? When did you gain the weight?
Does anything improve your symptoms?
Does anything make your symptoms worse?
Do you consider yourself a healthy eater?
How often do you exercise, and it is moderate or vigorous activity?
Are you sexually active?
Are you trying to become pregnant, or do you wish to become pregnant in the future?
Has your mother or a sister ever been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)?
