My bf and I had unprotected sex right atfer I just ended my period I took plan B pills and the next day I got my period again even though I just had it 3 days earlier. But now I still haven't gotten my period. Is it possible that I'm just late?

Can anyone please help me? I'm thinking I'm just going to get my period really late. Or is it possible that I am pregnant? Answers asap please.

Hi Anonymous,
Everything you explained is very common. Since she has used it before, she probably experienced some abnormalities to her regular cycle...if not, she was pretty lucky. It is common to have irregular periods for a couple months after using Plan B.
For more information, and to learn what to expect when taking Plan B, please thoughtfully read this article: Emergency Contraception Update, 2010.

I hope this helps answer your questions.

ok so heres the scoop.
my girlfriend and i had sex 2 days after getting her period. i did pullout before i ejaculated but to be sure we went along and got plan. she took the pill about 2 and half days later. not over 72 hours!

about a week later she noticed some bleeding and spotting. its lasted 3-4 days sometimes heavy sometimes light.

ive heard plan B can cause your period to come earlier than expected and that it is totally normal to experience period like symptoms ( abdominal pain, spotting, bleeding, the usual lalallal)

for reassurance... she took the pill 2 days after the end of her period. a week later she gets another possible period. the thing that confuses us is that she has taken plan B before but she did not have these symptoms. could it just be that this time was different and her body decided it wasnt happy with the hormonal levels.

also se is already very light on her period. she gets them about every 23-28 days give or take. she hardly ever gets bad cramps and her normal periods are usually very short 3-4 days. shes also very very athletic. ive heard that if you are very athletic things like a shorter lighter period are common.

and info and reassurance would be greatly appreciated.

after her next period comes or if this was her most recent period. we will be heading over to planned parent to talk with them about birth control and all sorts of other things.

Hello,

I have a question, my period ended on Decemebr 30th and i had sex with my fiance and the condom broke. I have taken Plan B before and had no side effects but this time i started bleeding for 4 days. It has been 2 weeks now since my period was due and still no signs, should i take a HPT or wait?

Plan B can cause breakthrough bleeding or withdrawal bleeding, even if you did not experience it previously. Women also experience a menstrual period a week early or a week late when using Plan B.

If your period has not started in January, you can use a HPT (it is 99% accurate after a missed period), and your cycle will most likely regulate itself within the next month.

Can you take the four-dose of ECs while on a 21-day pill already?

Hello! I have been on the pill for two months now, this is my second week on the second month. My bf and I had unprotected sex with him ejaculating inside me four days into the week (thursday) and two days after i realized i was following the pill a day late so i took both immediately. I am sure i missed the pill sometime during the week only ONCE but not sure when. Do i have a high risk of getting pregnant? THANK YOU!

Hi. I had unprotected sex about a week ago. Back then, I had ended my period about four days earlier or so (Jan 13th). I took the Plan B about two or three hours after I had intercourse. Now, after about a week, I got my period again, in within 10 days or so (Jan 26th). I am really scared, it is not just bleeding, but my actual period. Does it mean that I can be pregnant? Did I do anything wrong? When will my next period come approximately? My periods are really painful, and this is not an exception. Is is possible to have twice my period in within less than 2 weeks?
Thank you very much.

Hi Anonymous,
Your experience is normal for taking PlanB. You likely are not pregnant.

Hi Everyone!
Im 22 years old and I was on birth control for 7 years and just recently got off of them in October. I did get my period in November and was waiting for it to come again in December. I never had a period in December and today is January 25 and I usually get my periods the last week on January. Therefore I am almost 2 Months late. I took 3 HPT 3 weeks ago and all of them turned out negative. I told my obgyn and she ordered me lab work to be done. I got my results this morning and my blood test pregnancy test came out negative and my HCG and prolactin came out normal range. I haven't had any symptoms of pregnancy. I only got sick to my stomach when I thought too much on "what if im pregnant" and that always got me freaked out. Anyways, I scheduled an appointment for my OBGYN in February and I think if I still don't get my period then, she said she was going to do an ultra sound to be safe.
I have been under a lot of stress because I ask myself everyday, why haven't I got my period?? and plus, im taking 22 units in college so thats pretty stressful too.

Hope my story helps. I know reading other peoples stories makes you feel a little better.
