Dr. Rohde explains why women often have carpal tunnel syndrome in their third trimester of pregnancy.

We are not really sure. The current explanation is that it causes, that women have swelling or increased swelling in the area of the carpal canal. There may be some hormonal relationship, but that has yet to be investigated.
