Gail discusses the roles of prayer and faith in her continued sobriety.
Gail:
I know for me if I don’t pray a lot and take what God’s will is, not my will, because I learned that if I have to manipulate a situation or I have to do something to benefit myself then I am running on my own will.
So I just, I pray a lot and I take it one day at a time and it gets better but it’s hard. But you know I am grateful and some people say, “How can you be a grateful alcoholic?”
Well, considering that I have hopefully broken the chain of the generations of alcoholics in my family I honestly believe that your life can change and we can change if we just have faith in a higher power or a God of our understanding.
