It all started back in high school. I found myself studying "allied health" at the local technical school and was working towards earning my CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) at the end of my Senior Year. Somewhere along the way I realized I was on the wrong path and chose the business end of the profession. A couple of years later I became an EMT and realized, not long after, that this aspect of the medical profession wasn't for me either.
In the meantime I studied bartending, worked for 10 years in the insurance industry, and became a full-time freelance writer (my current full-time occupation). But the story doesn't end there...
About 5 years ago I started studying martial arts and discovered what it truly means to be connected in both mind and body. Through my studies I developed a love for natural and alternative healing methods, went to massage school, and found my true calling in life - healing - albeit just on the opposite side of the line I had been walking before. Now I continue to study martial arts, massage therapy, homeopathy, natural alternatives, fitness, nutrition, and anything related to the idea that we should treat our bodies as a whole - not just as bits and pieces to be torn apart and played with individually.
I hope to be able to share what I've learned with other women so that they, too, can see the great correlations between the mind and physical body; the way nutrition impacts our abilities to function; and how wonderful a healthy life can really be!
