Sarah explains which multiple sclerosis symptoms impact her life the most.
Sarah:
Probably the fatigue – that’s the biggest one. And my heat sensitivity. Those are the two that really affect my life and will change what I do on a daily basis. I am lucky I don’t have to give up too much for the fatigue. There are not too many days where I just can’t get out of bed, but they do happen.
And then with the heat sensitivity, it does change how I function in the warmer months living down in northern Virginia. We have a lot of warmer months, and I have cooling devices. We have a very high air-conditioning bill every summer, but I am just very careful in the heat, but using the assistive devices there, the cooling devices allows me to do a lot more outside than before I started using them, which has been a blessing because I can go outside with my children. I can do outdoor sports and activities in the summertime. I am not stuck in the air-conditioning.
