Life Coach Crystal Dwyer describes how a woman who has trouble sleeping can benefit from hypnotherapy.

Crystal Dwyer:
Hypnosis works great. Hypnosis, hypnotherapy really works well for any kind of insomnia because what it does is it disarms the conscious mind, and often it’s the conscious mind that’s rolling around incessantly thinking that is causing the insomnia.

Hypnosis is also very natural for sleep because in the hypnotic state, you are slowing down the brainwave anyway naturally, which is the first stage toward sleep. The other powerful thing about hypnosis and insomnia is whatever those things are that may be keeping you awake, things you’re agitated by–sometimes it’s hormonal changes--but even with the hormonal changes there’s a lot of emotional agitation.

So, the insomnia hypnosis can address some of those things and just neutralize, bring a sense of calmness. We use beautiful guided imagery and just sort of let the mind relax and shut down and take a break, if you will. It’s very powerful and, for really any kind of insomnia.
