Dr. Navarro describes a woman's options if she wants a facial vein removed.
Dr. Navarro:
There are two types of vein in the face: the little spider veins around the nose or in the nose, and the blue veins around the forehead and eyes.
For the little spider veins, or lot of spider veins, around the nose, usually around the nose, can be at the cheeks, we will use sclerotherapy, or here we can use laser. These spider veins in the face respond pretty well to laser, so we have to choose these two options, and the results are very good.
For the blue veins in the forehead and on the side of the face, we use sclerotherapy injections, and they respond very well to one of the treatments.

Luis Navarro, M.D., F.A.C.S., is the Founder and Medical Director of The Vein Treatment Center, established in 1982. Dr. Navarro is a General Surgeon, originally board certified in 1976. He is also a senior Clinical Instructor of Surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where he was Chief Surgical Resident.
