Diagnosed with urethral diverticula in 2013. But this was after I was admitted to hospital twice after the abcess burst. Thus when it came tk light after an MRI SCAN that it was diverticula I was told it needed specialist surgery to be removed. However as it had decreased in size over 12 months & wasn't causing me any discomfort I decided not to put myself through the surgery ( which I was told could leave me catheterised for life). Unfortunately at the February 2017 I started experiencing problems which I presumed just urine infection but 2 courses of antibiotics & no change later, I was referred back to my urologist (8 weeks ago) & informed the diverticula had reared it's ugly head again. I had an MRI scan beginning of June & as my urologist knows he cannot perform the surgery & it will take the specialist at another hospital he has 'left' me in limbo! I have pleaded for him to chase my scan results which I have still not heard back about & I am currently suffering on holiday in Bulgaria
