Once again it’s in the middle of the night and I am downstairs by the pool trying to get whatever wi-fi is available. It’s so annoying because I keep trying to watch Prison Break and the damn player keeps buffering and pausing the show. I have been trying to watch the same episode now for 20 minutes!
Tonight we went out with dad and Barb’s friends that own a hotel here on Cozumel. We met up at a great Italian restaurant on the waterfront. I ordered a chicken dish and for the first time in a long time, the chicken actually tasted really good (even though it was slightly overcooked). My tastebuds have really changed and usually the only thing that ever sounds good is candy, frozen yogurt, soda, or pasta. I need to focus on eating more protein and less sweets. I guess this is a start.
It was downpouring again when we left the restaurant. Some were actually stuck on the road because of all of the water. Some of the scooters literally looked like they were drowning. I can’t believe how much rain has come down. I haven’t seen this much wet since living in the Northwest. It is supposed to clear up in a few days. I am starting to get a little annoyed and want to take advantage of feeling good to do some fun things on the island. That’s righ, I am actually feeling pretty decent except for some minor aches and pains!
We spent the rest of the night hanging back at their hotel drinking and eating dessert. Afterwards, we headed home and Kathy and I went to the neighbors to wish him a happy birthday. There is a guy named Hector that is staying across the way at his Uncle’s place. He seems nice. It was his birthday a few days ago so we bought him a cake at Mega and knocked on his door tonight with a smiling face and glowing candles on a cheezy looking cake. He was surprised. It’s nice to know that there is someone else our age to hang out with while we are here. It doesn’t hurt that he isn’t too bad on the eyes either.
