Will anxiety end my life?

For a couple of years I have been presenting a constant feeling of anxiety in everything I do, I feel a desire to finish everything as soon as possible. This happens since I decided to become financially independent by opening my own online sales business. This anxiety is presented in such simple things as eating, cooking, washing clothes, bathing, reading a book, driving, etc., to things related to work. This in a certain way has caused discomfort in the relationship with my husband because in fact, I also feel anxiety in bed, having sex with him, so I get very tense. Do not get me wrong, I'm not saying it's his fault. Several of you might think that this is normal, that we all tend to be very rushed when we have a husband and children to take care of, but my problem is that now I sleep a lot less, sometimes I do not even sleep, sometimes I only eat food once on day. I really do not want to get sick and fall into bed because it would be terrible to be indisposed. Also, I do not want the relationship with my husband to be ruined because of me, because we have argued on several occasions about this. What can I do and why do I feel I can not control it on my own?

Hello Fer_Asti

Thank you for writing.

A self-employed person is only financially independent if their work is in high demand and flourishing. Otherwise they have the same financial fears as anyone else, sometimes even more so, as they don't have paid sick/vacation leave or health care, employer sponsored retirement plans and others things that many employed persons have access too.

Only about 10% of the workforce are self-employed. Entrepreneurship is not for everyone. In fact, it's not for most people. Since your anxiety is so linked to being self-employed, have you considered that maybe this just isn't right for you and you'd be far better off working for someone else? While there are great advantages to being an entrepreneur, like time off when needed, not having HR issues and having an always-pleasant working environment, it's just isn't right for most. If your anxiety is related to every aspect of life, from work to your marriage to bathing and reading, re-evauluate your position. Therapy can help.

First of all, thanks for your answer Susan,

Precisely on several occasions I have asked myself that question in my mind, if having really become economically independent as a business entrepreneur online has been the reason for my growing anxiety. I admit that since I started my online business has improved to the present, but of course, it does not take away everything I've had to invest to achieve it. Maybe, as you mention, this step could be what has caused my great anxiety.

No doubt, I will take your advice. I will go to therapy. I honestly can not conceive of leaving my independent business, beyond the economic, it has given me great personal growth.

Thanks, Susan.
