HERWriter Guide

Hello Fer_Asti

Thank you for writing.

A self-employed person is only financially independent if their work is in high demand and flourishing. Otherwise they have the same financial fears as anyone else, sometimes even more so, as they don't have paid sick/vacation leave or health care, employer sponsored retirement plans and others things that many employed persons have access too.

Only about 10% of the workforce are self-employed. Entrepreneurship is not for everyone. In fact, it's not for most people. Since your anxiety is so linked to being self-employed, have you considered that maybe this just isn't right for you and you'd be far better off working for someone else? While there are great advantages to being an entrepreneur, like time off when needed, not having HR issues and having an always-pleasant working environment, it's just isn't right for most. If your anxiety is related to every aspect of life, from work to your marriage to bathing and reading, re-evauluate your position. Therapy can help.
