Being in pain can affect your life in many ways. Pain tolerance can be different for each person. By unhealthy, do you mean, they accept pain without wanting to find relief? This might be a shield or hiding place for them, a way out of social events or activities. Or do you mean fear of taking medication or measures to find relief? Some people are more afraid of treatment than what is causing their pain. Or has the person adopted the old "no pain no gain," acceptance? The article below can offer further insights.
