I have had the copper coil for over 3 years now. Since having it my periods have been longer and heavier, but I have also experienced mid cycle spotting. I assumed this was just ovulation spotting. However, for the past 8 days I have experienced daily spotting, which started as pinkish/brown and is now much redder. It also seems to be much redder and heavier after a bowel movement and is worse after sex.
Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong, as I am really worried?

If this is a one-time occurrence, there may not be a need for concern. But it's recommended that if you have bad cramping, pain or soreness in your lower belly or stomach. There’s pain or bleeding during sex. Your vaginal discharge is different than normal. You have vaginal bleeding that is heavier than usual, see you GYN. You may want to call anyway for peace of mind.
