I am having chest pain sharp in nature just on the right side of the sternum about the 2nd rib. Comes on when I am walking. It takes my breath away. The pain when it hits is about an 8 on 1 to 10 scale. Doest not radiate to any other part. Goes away when I sit or itjust goes away after a minute

Guide

Hello. Thank you for posting.

We cannot know what this pain is.  An evaluation by a doctor is needed. If you feel ill, please don't hesitate to seek medical help.  Most heart attacks involve discomfort in the center or left side of the chest. The discomfort usually lasts for more than a few minutes or goes away and comes back. It can feel like pressure, squeezing, fullness, or pain. It can include jaw pain or nausea. That said, any chest pain should never be ignored, no matter which side it is occurring.
