The blotches started about a year ago, but unknowingly became larger, and one area became like a large patch, first started on the right side of back but now on the left side as well, does not itch and is not raised. What might this be?

Hello, Anon. Thank you for posting today.
Rashes can appear as blotches, welts or blisters; they can be red, itchy, scaly, or dry. In addition, some rashes may come and go, while others never seem to go away. Although most rashes are not life-threatening, some rashes can be a sign of underlying illness.
You have had these blotches a long time, Anon. We would only be guessing as to the cause. It's time to see a dermatologist for an evaluation which would then determine treatment. It's likely nothing serious, but it's best to know for sure.
