Plan b and birth control

Last Wednesday night at midnight I took my regular birth control pill. I'm on Kurvelo and have been on it a year. The aforementioned pill was day one of the second week of my pack. I forgot my pill Thursday and Friday due to being away unplanned and forgetting my pack, I came home from work Saturday around 2 am and took two pills, but wound up having sex that night. I know it's TMI but he finished elsewhere, but after he fell asleep, I snuck out to go get plan b. Took it within 45 minutes of sex, and the next day i had horrible backache and nausea but after eating, the nausea went away. I read online to resume taking bc pills as normal if you are on them and took plan b. But then my friend said she was in a similar spot before and after taking plan b, she was told to take two pills after sex and two more 12 hours later. And in a state of panic and anxiety I did that too. So not only did I take the two missed pills when I got home Saturday, I then took plan b, then two bc pills after this and then two more 12 hours later, then just went one a day as normal.

Please don't judge me. I know that is a ton of hormones. I'm sure my body doesn't know what is going on. I'm on week one of a new pack and now I'm getting cramps and weird chills like I get when I normally get cramps. But plan b didn't make me bleed, and since I resumed my pill and didn't take a placebo pill week, I'm wondering why I'm cramping? Please someone help me calm down I'm scared I messed my body up for for good.

Hello. Thank you for writing.

I'm sorry to say, you should not have listened to your friend. You should have just continued you BC pills as usual (once you made up the missed pills).

I'm not sure why you took plan b if you say he did not ejaculate inside you. In any case, there is not much you can do now but wait out the side effects. Cramping and period irregularity is a side effect of ECP, likely made worse because you took so many pills in a short period of time. We cannot know when your cycle will become regular again, for most women, it's the following month under normal circumstance. Contact your GYN if you are concerned.
