Pill absorption

Hi!
I've been on Gedarel contraceptive pills for years and have never had a problem.
A few days ago I had an upset stomach and diarrhea, 11 hours after I had taken my daily pill. I was paranoid so took an extra pill straight after to counteract it. I have then continued to take my regular pill at the same time in the days following. Would this one time be enough to stop the effectiveness?
Thank you!

Hello AD4494

Thank you for writing!

There was no need to take another pill if you were vomiting or had diarrhea 11 hours after taking your regular pill. It would have been absorbed into your body within about two hours of taking it.

You will now be a day ahead with your pills but this won't affect the effectiveness. Just finish your pack a day early and wait 7 days before starting again. You should be fine.

Best,
Susan
