My nipples are getting bigger, very tender and hard a lot more

In the past week and a half my nipples seem to be getting hard every other hourfor no particular reason. They are also very tender and sore (which could be from getting hard so much but I’m not sure) and I just noticed this morning they look bigger. The internet says it could be pregnancy but I’m on the pill and my boyfriend pulls out. So what’s going on???

Hello. Thank you for posting.

The hormones in birth control pills may cause changes in your breasts. Only surgery can permanently change breast size, but some women experience changes in breast size, usually when they first begin using birth control pills.

With or without birth control, a woman's breasts are subject to the hormonal fluctuations that take place from one menstrual cycle to the next. Sometimes, they will feel lumpy or knotty, while at other times, they will feel smooth. These and other changes are simply a part of being a woman.

If you are still concerned, a talk with your GYN can ease your mind.

I am 15, so I’m wondering if it’s possible that it could just be a hormonal change, or my boobs and nipples are changing shape because of puberty, I have been on the same birth control for 2 years. My period is also a week away so I’m not sure if that could be the cause.

Hello.

You didn't mention your age or that your period was due soon. So yes, these things can affect your breasts.
