Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. Thank you for reaching out to us for advice.

I am assuming that you have been diagnosed three years ago with a slow growing meningioma.

For the benefit of all our readers, a meningioma is a tumor that arises from the meninges, which are the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord.

Most meningiomas are noncancerous (benign), though rarely a meningioma may be cancerous (malignant).

Typically, the symptoms begin gradually. Depending on where in the brain the tumor is situated, symptoms can include headaches that worsen with time, changes in vision, hearing loss, memory loss, sudden onset of seizures and weakness in the arms and legs.

Anonymous, please tell your physician that the headaches are getting worse and you fell sick every morning. Your doctor knows the location and degree of the meningioma and can best advise you on limitations or acceptable activities, including traveling by airplane.

Regards,
Maryann
