My mom has this and i believe there is no treatment to rid her of this. She had melanoma in her head and when the radiotherapy broke this up fragments of this built up at the base of her spine and she is now bed ridden. What i want to know is there anything out there to treat this condition or even something being tested or untested which could help her????

Hi,
I am researching some information for you, and want to make sure I know exactly what your mom was diagnosed with.

When you said your mom had "melanoma in her head", can you be more specific? Melanoma is a form of skin cancer, and can metastasize (spread) and infiltrate to other parts of the body. If the cancer spreads to the brain, it can lead to meningitis.

To be specific, what is her exact diagnosis? Terms can include:
- Neoplastic meningitis in malignant melanoma
- Neoplastic meningitis
- Malignant meningitis
- Carcinoma meningitis

What are her current treatment options that she is/is not using?
What information have her doctor(s) provided to her?
Has her melanoma been successfully treated?
