Hi.
June 30, 2011 - 4:10pmAny Help would be awesome. Im on my second month of ever using birth control. The first pack i remembered every day to take it. But this one, im into the third week. I've forgotten my pill up to two days 3 times this month, but have always taken it as soon as ive remembered. The first time didnt affect my period. The second time, I had a thick brown discharge which i had mistaken for a two week early period. same day catching up the pills thinking I was double protected, I was ejaculated into. one day that i was ejaculated into i did not use my birth control. (in this 4 day period, i forgot BC every other day. ) today i tried to make up for the lost birth control by taking two, I dropped one and could not find it. So I only took one. Sooo, maybe an explination of my risks, PLEASE!

Hi Anon,
Pills are one of the most effective methods of birth control but only if they are taken exactly as prescribed. Once you start taking them at different times, skipping doses, and having unprotected sex-- that 99% effectiveness starts to dwindle down. Since you had sex on a night when you missed a pill, there is a chance that you may not have been protected. Continue to take your pills daily and, if necessary, set up an alarm to remind you to take them daily.
Good Luck,
Rosa

Hi, I have been on the pill for about 8 months and prior to that I was on the depo-provera injection. Recently I have become a bit lax in taking my pills at the same time everyday due to stress and exams etc. I was two days late in taking two pills prior to the inactive pills, but followed instructions to take them as sson as remembered. I then also forgot a pill in my second week, and have been late in taking consecutive pills - roughly 12 + hours late.
The pill I am on in Brevenol-1, and I have read instructions but I am unable to gauge the liklihood of pregnancy. Are you able to assist?
Thanks

Hi Anon,
Did you have sex during the times you forgot pills/took them late?
If so, then your pills are not achieving their maximum effectiveness and you could be pregnant if you didn't use a back up method such as a condom. Even if it is likely that you could get pregnant, you won't really know until you have missed a period at which point you can test for pregnancy. Any time before that-- your guess is as good as mine.
Best Wishes!

Hi,
June 7, 2011 - 9:47amI have been taking birth control for about 2 years now. I missed 2 pills during my 2nd week, and doubled up to make up for the lost pills. I had unprotected sex 2 weeks later, during the end of my placebos. How likely is it that I might be pregnant? I really hope I am not. Thank you for your response.

On and off for the last 3 weeks everyone in the house has had the stomach flu. I have had it at least once a week ( We have 4 kids and I take Humira). The first 2 weeks I was vomiting and had diarrhea for about 3 days. The 3rd week it only lasted for 1 daybut was the 1st day of my 2nd weekin the pack. The 1st week of the stomach flu was the last week of the pack. Week 2 was the 1st week of the pack and so forth. I hope that makes since... My husbend and I had unprotected sex twice during that time and we never even thought twice about it. Now I am worried that I might be preg. What are the chances? I never missed a pill but I was not even keeping down water.... OMG we do not need 5 kids....

Hi,
May 30, 2011 - 4:43pmI have been on loestrin 20 for about 2 years. I take my pill for 3 weeks and then a seven day break, I normally get my period within the first two days of the seven day break but it's been 6 days and I still haven't got it. I've always been regular so I'm quite worried. I thought I might be pregnant because I wasn't well for a a couple of days and was vomiting which can stop the pill from working so I took three pregnancy tests and all have came back negative, is there any chance the tests could be wrong? Should I start taking my pill again tomorrow?

I appreciate your help! I would see a doctor but I have no health insurance :/ and my friends are saying that its 99% effective. But I was in disbelief because of how many days away my period is and wanted to know what other people thought too. I will have to wait and see!
And btw, I have a regular 28 day cycle. and I was unprotected the same week I ovulated. I assumed I ovulated because I showed signs. And have been on the pill less then a month, my first pack.
