Hello Anonymous,
Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for reaching out to us with your situation.
If I understand, you took the first dose of Postinor 2 but not the second dose. How long after intercourse did you take the first dose?
It is estimated that 95% of expected pregnancies will be prevented if if taken within the first 24 hours, declining to 58% if taken between 48 hours and 72 hours after unprotected intercourse.
To ensure this you must take one tablet as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse. The sooner that you take the tablet, the more effective it is likely to be. It is best to take it immediately after you receive it. The first tablet should be taken no later than 72 hours after intercourse. Take the second tablet exactly 12 hours after the first tablet.
Anonymous, by not taking the second dose you compromised the effectiveness. I cannot say whether the first dose worked or not.
What different pill did you take the first dose of? When did you take this pill?
I suggest you contact either your gynecologist or pharmacist. Tell them what you have done and what you can expect.
Regards,
