Hi, I have a problem with something and I need to be sure about few things. I would like to get your opinion on this I feel really horrible. I have fibroids and it’s become more than a month that I keep having pain below my stomach and the sides of my stomach and I get really horrible random sharp pain below my stomach and also I keep bleeding every few days. My GYN told me a month ago I wouldn’t touch them. I’m in a position that I’m in horrible pain and keep having bleeding I can’t ignore them. I have appointment to see a different gynecologist and he’s a male doctor. I heard he is a very good amazing doctor and that’s why I’m going to him. I really hope he helps me in every way I just have a little concern which is since he’s a male doctor I’m kind of embarrassed this is what I’m trying to figure out how to be comfortable. I never been to a male doctor it’s my first time. I would like to know for such problem I mentioned what kinds of treatment there are for fibroids and are there less invasive treatments available? I thought I just ask you about this in advance to know more about. I’m hoping this problem of mine goes away real soon.

Hello again, Melissa6666
Thank you for posting.
Fibroids are benign tumors made of smooth muscle cells and fibrous connective tissue. They develop in the uterus. Not everyone will develop symptoms or require treatment. This is why it's important for you to discuss your options with your GYN.
Generally, treatment for fibroids may include:
Watchful waiting
Medical Management
Fibroid removal
Hysterectomy
Uterine Artery Embolization
MR Guided Focused Ultrasound
Other medical options

Thanks for letting me know. Just to know since I’m having pain and symptoms they obviouslybeould say surgery or medication and I’m not sure if medication would help this but as surgery are there less invasive surgery or treatment?
