Gout can be recurring, and just ask anyone who has suffered from this condition: it feels awful, extremely painful, and is tough to get over.
The good news: most forms of gout can be prevented with lifestyle changes (primarily diet). Other forms of gout occur when our bodies make too much uric acid, or your kidneys do not excrete enough uric acid. Have you been able to confirm what triggers gout in your body (diet, over-production or kidney problem)? Gout can also be associated with other medical conditions, including high blood pressure or diabetes.
Have you talked with your doctor about how to help prevent gout, if it is lifestyle related for you? Do you have other health conditions, or other symptoms? Here is a great article that you can read: Your Guide to Gout.
Lastly, are you taking medication that can help prevent recurrent gout? Please talk with your doctor about your symptoms, and let us know how you are doing!
