I feel your pain on depression and to all those who have night sweats too --- I think the chronic exhaustion is the missing link here! Since wearing p.j's my sister got me for Christmas I am now like a different person! I hadn't slept in ages! They are called 'goodnighties' and I have to say I have never slept better! there is something in this fabric that really helps you sleep better... Now I don't wake up feeling all cold and clammy --- or was it a hot feeling? just felt like my thermostat was broken! you really should try it! you can buy on line

Yes! Same thing has happened to me. It's an unabsorbed PILL

You should talk to your doctor and/or pharmacist about this to find out what can be done so you will absorb the medication properly. Let us know what you learn as it will help others.

I have had the same thing happen to me. I am going to be asking my doctor about it too as I believe it to be the pill that is undigested.

I believe you should both be tested for H-Pylori. It's a simple blood test.

I have been taking Pristiq for about 6 months and it has helped tremendously with depression. I have taken everything on the market with a little help but none as good as this. However I was not told about hot flashes...after read these comments, I am thinking ah ha! It has been very confusing to me. I should be long past the hot flashes and yet am having them again. I think doctors should emphasize this possibility and not rely on the patient reading page after page of "small print". Elise

Elise,
I agree! I am surprised how many women are given prescriptions and NOT told about potential side effects...even common prescriptions such as birth control pills. I understand the reason behind it, that some medications may have so many side effects, and most of them either not severe or not occurring in a majority of patients, that doctors would not want to go through the litany of "possible, but rare" side effects. However...there should be a "happy middle ground" that doctors could provide some information. I also know that my pharmacist will ask if I need a consult when given a new medication...and I wonder how many women actually say "yes" to this (in the age of drive-through pharmacies). Do we have the resources at our fingertips, and are not using them until we have a problem? Or, do you think there should be more mandatory education about prescriptions before they're given?
I'm glad your medication is helping tremendously with your depression! We would love to hear more about your story...both before and after medication...and what symptoms you've noticed have improved, and how your life has changed with taking medication.
Take care!

I have been on Pristiq 50 mg for 2 months, it was prescribed for my moderate depression and anxiety. It has changed my world for the better with absolutely no side effects after 2 weeks. I am very into nutrition, take lot's of supplements, eat very clean, and exercise. I wonder if that has anything to do with me responding well, with no side effects?
