hello my issue is a little complicated because i don't know if I am pregnant or just have cold but here we go. First of all I take bc pills on a regular basis and it's the 28 day cycle. My last period that I KNOW was regular was July 29th. After that I purposely overlapped my bc pills for the month of Aug since I was going on vacation..I had not had sex again after July 29th until August 28th and since I was paranoid I took a plan b the next day anyways even though we used condoms for Most of the time. On Sept 7th I got what I believe was my period..it seemed regular but I am not sure I do know that I used my normal supply of pads and tampons..but now on Sept 17th I have been feeling really tired and sick, my nose is stuffy (i have allergies) and fatigued and I have body aches so I am wondering if I could be pregnant. I think it's too early to take a pregnancy test

It sounds like you had your period on September 7th (it could have been breakthrough bleeding also), and you will probably have an irregular cycle after taking birth control pills continuously....this is completely normal. Your next period may not be until around the 7th of October.

Please know that a stuffy nose and just general tiredness are not really signs of pregnancy!

If you are still worried and can not wait until your next period arrives, you can take a home pregnancy test if it has been at least a few weeks after sex.

hi there>>> 4 days after my period i had unprotective sex with my boyfriend... the day after i took plan b.. 2 days after taking plan b i had bleeding... 1 to 5 days it was just light brownish bleeding but now it was heavier... i have been bleeding for 8 days just 5 days after my period.... is this normal??? I am soo afraid that it might be ectopic pregnancy or the bleeding is side effect of plan b... and just worried that its longer compare to others... because usually bleeding only lasted for 3 to 5 day but my case i have been bleeding for almost 8 days now...needed advice here

Hi,
Plan B can cause some irregularity in your menstrual cycle, and this is completely normal. I am not sure if the bleeding you experienced on August 15th was your expected period, as it could have been breakthrough bleeding as well (from Plan B). If you were expecting your period around August 15th, then you can probably count it as a period.

Since you have not had a period for 33 days now, any home pregnancy test you take now would be accurate at detecting any pregnancy hormone. Your late period may just be late from the "mega dose" of hormones from Plan B.

If your period does not start within another week, take another home pregnancy test. You can also call your doctor if you are worried. Do you have a gynecologist that you see on an annual basis? It would be a good idea to get on some type of regular birth control.

Please know that anytime you have unprotected sex, you run the risk of pregnancy. It does not matter if the guy did not ejaculate inside you one time; that one time could result in a pregnancy.

Using the withdrawal method (withdrawing the penis during sex before ejaculation) is not a reliable form of birth control for most couples, and is only about 70% effective at best (compared to condoms at 98% effective and the pill at 99% effective at preventing pregnancy).

You are experiencing PMS symptoms, and that is a great sign, especially with the negative pregnancy tests. Hang in there, wait a few more days for your period, and be sure to talk with your doctor about reliable birth control so you do not have this extra stress and worry in the future!

ok thanks! do you think ill will get my period soon? I was expecting my period on aug 15, so i did count it as being my normal period. I have been waiting for my period for this month. It should be here sometime this week. Is it normal for my period to take over 33 days to arrive?
