Hi sara javed,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community! I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing such pain. Whenever you are in pain like that, especially when it is so bad that it prevents you from sitting, it is important to visit a doctor.

Pain in your urethra can be caused by a variety of things including intercourse, scented or strong soaps, condoms, douches or other feminine hygiene products, an injury on your pelvic region. It can also be a more serious issue like a bacterial infection, urinary tract infection, kidney infection or kidney stones, an STD.

If your pain is this bad, please go visit a doctor. They will be able to determine what is causing so much pain and can prescribe a treatment to help get rid of the pain. However, the pain may worsen if it continues to go untreated.

I hope this has helped! Please keep me updated and let me know if you have further questions.

Best,
Erin
