Hi, Anon.

Thank you for your post.

Depending on the severity of your hernia, your doctor may monitor your hernia for possible complications or recommend surgery. Dietary changes may help the symptoms of a hernia. Avoid large or heavy meals, don’t lie down or bend over after a meal, and keep your body weight in a healthy range. Your doctor may prescribe over-the-counter or prescription medications that reduce stomach acid can relieve your discomfort. These might be antacids, H-2 receptor blockers, and proton pump inhibitors.

Ask your doctor about the best treatment for you and what to prescribe for pain.
