As long as you take your pill at the appropriate time, it should not cause any problem. If you still feel unsure, check with your pharmacist. 

Zolpidem (Ambien)  is used to treat a certain sleep problem (insomnia) in adults. If you have trouble falling asleep, it helps you fall asleep faster, so you can get a better night's rest.  If you want to space them, you might want to take the birth control first because after the Ambien you might get drowsy and forget.
