Quinoa or other high fiber foods are not recommended during a flare. Some people need a constant low fiber diet, even when not having a flare. Some people are fine with whole grains when not experiencing a flare.

You can do a trial to see how you fare with quinoa when you don't have a flare. If it doesn't cause symptoms, then you should be fine. People with diverticulitis react differently to all sorts of foods.
