My 31 year old son has been diagnosed with pleurisy. He is a welder. Can this type of job make you more suseptable? This is the first time any member of my family has had this issue.

Hi Anonymous,

The National Library of Medicine has a website called Haz Map which illustrates many work related illnesses which can be found here for welders http://hazmap.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/hazmap_cgi?level=1&term=Welding,+Soldering+%26+Brazing&level1name=Welding,+Soldering+%26+Brazing&tree=Job.

I hope the helps. Good luck.

Missie
