Bacterial Spinal Meningitis: Did You Quickly Recover?

Patti shares how quickly she recovered once she returned home after being hospitalized with bacterial spinal meningitis.

Patti:
So I stayed in the hospital for ten days taking the antibiotics and not really feeling much better, but the nurses had told me that for every day you are in the hospital, it takes three or four days for any kind of recovery.

So in my mind I am figuring, “Well, it’s going to be a while until I feel better,” but after going home, I had nursing care in the morning and in evening. They would come and administer the antibiotics. It would take about an hour to be infused with the drugs and so I was tied to home, not really getting my strength back, not really feeling like I should but being the main breadwinner in my family I wanted to get back to things and back to work as quickly.

I had some jobs to finish up and I had some traveling to do. I had to go to Italy. I had to go to Atlanta. I had to go to Idaho – some jobs to finish; I needed to get them achieved and keep things rolling that I needed to for my family.
