Lailla recalls her recovery after uterine artery embolization to remove her fibroids.
Lailla:
After the procedure I was taken to the recovery room and I guess I was very sensitive to the medication that was given to me, you know, to make me feel groggy. So I was vomiting a lot; I had a lot of nausea about it until I went home. But towards the next day I was fine.
After my procedure, it was done on a Friday and I had the weekend to rest and I was back to work on Monday. And I was telling, you know, my CEO, where I work at, in regards with my experience, and I told him, “Hey, let’s do a program about this and spread the word to hospitals and find, you know, an interventional radiologist that would be interested in working with us to do this procedure because this procedure really have to be known by a lot of women, that it’s available out there.”
And I think with that experience alone and then with after, you know, the results of the procedure it’s well worth it, well worth it to, you know go through. And until now it’s been I believe four years since I had it done and I have no problems, and I had another ultrasound done to check to see about my fibroids, and they are smaller and most of them have sloughed away.
