I have been working with dyslexic people for 10 years through my own business, Dyslexia Australia. A large part of my success is through my own experiences with dyslexia and my ability to relate to the needs of my fellow dyslexics. I am a dyslexic with the ability to learn not a person with a learning disability.
Albert Einstein said "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." Dyslexics are judged by how well they sound out or decode a word. When it doesn't work - just give them more phonics lessons. It is like giving fish climbing lessons. One third of our children are visual learners!!
