Dr. Lazarus explains how often a woman taking Levothyroxine should monitor her thyroid gland during pregnancy.

Dr. Lazarus:
If a woman is on levothyroxine and becomes pregnant, as I said earlier, it may be necessary to increase the dose of the levothyroxine. It’s very important to monitor the thyroid function within a month to six weeks after the increase and then again in each trimester.
