Candace describes the obstacles she faced when she started her search for thinning hair treatment options.
Candace:
You know, back when I was in the high school and even in my 20s and 30s there wasn’t a lot of talk about it so I would mention it to doctors when I would have regular physicals and I would say, “My hair seems to be thinning,” and they would say, “Oh, don’t worry about it. It’s probably nothing.” They would run blood tests and my iron levels were okay. You know, everybody always think it’s their thyroid so I’d say, “Please check my thyroid.” My thyroid was okay.
There was nothing physically wrong with me and to a doctor, if they can’t really fix something they won’t necessarily offer any advice on what to do and this was pre-Rogaine; it was pre-laser, so they had nothing to offer me. So it was just, “Don’t worry about it; it won’t get that bad,” but you know, it does keep progressing.
