I actually did one of those dna tests in israel last year while visiting family. I wasn’t expecting much, but the results confirmed my grandparents’ stories about distant Sephardic ancestry. What’s wild is how the genetic data lined up with old migration patterns and surnames my family used to have. It really helped me connect dots that records alone couldn’t.
